WWRP announces the addition of three attorneys

WILLIAMS, WILLIAMS, RATTNER & PLUNKETT, P.C., is pleased to announce the addition of the following attorneys:

WILLIAM T. MYERS has been named Of Counsel to the firm. Mr. Myers has been one of Michigan’s preeminent real estate lawyers for many years with a practice focusing on residential and commercial developments. Because of his interest and expertise in condominium and common interest property laws, Mr. Myers served as one of the drafters of, and a major contributor to, the current Michigan Condominium Act and the Administrative Regulations under the Act. He is a member and past chairperson of the Committee for Condominiums, Cooperatives and Planned Unit Developments of the Real Property Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan and a past member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers. Additionally, he has lectured and served extensively as a panel participant in real estate seminars and symposia for the Practising Law Institute, the Institute of Continuing Legal Education and for bar association groups and other professional organizations closely involved in the real estate development industry. Mr. Myers has been consistently selected for inclusion in Best Lawyers in America, the Super Lawyers of Michigan and dBusiness magazine’s Top Lawyers in Michigan.  Mr. Myers received an LL.B. from Harvard Law School and an A.B, Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of Michigan.

C. KIM SHIERK has been named a Shareholder of the firm. Ms. Shierk's practice focuses on residential and commercial real estate development with an emphasis on condominium law as well as other forms of community property development. Ms. Shierk's practice also includes telecommunications law. She is a member and former Chairperson of the Real Property Law Section Council of the State Bar of Michigan. Ms. Shierk is a member of the Section's Land Title Standards Committee. She is also past Chair of the Council's Committee for Condominiums, Co-ops and PUDs. Ms. Shierk is a frequent lecturer on a variety of real estate topics for the Institute of Continuing Legal Education and for the Homeward Bound program series. She has authored numerous articles and a book chapter used by attorneys for their continuing legal education.  Ms. Shierk is honored to be included in the Best Lawyers in America, the Super Lawyers Top 100 Michigan Lawyers, dBusiness magazine's Top Lawyers in Michigan, FORTUNE® Magazine's Michigan Women Leaders in the Law, and Hour Detroit’s Top Women Attorneys in Michigan.  Ms. Shierk received a J.D., from the University of Detroit Law School and a B.A. from Michigan State University.

ROBERT A. LABELLE has been named a Senior Attorney of the firm. Mr. LaBelle’s practice focuses on real estate, municipal and environmental law, with a substantial emphasis on the acquisition, sale, development, leasing and subleasing of commercial real estate, surplus asset disposition and management, the permitting, licensing and zoning of commercial properties, and environmental regulation and investigation. In these practice areas, Mr. LaBelle has represented many national retailers and regional developers and businesses.  Mr. LaBelle has negotiated and drafted thousands of leases, subleases, purchase and development agreements, reciprocal easement agreements and loan documents. He developed the master forms for leasing, subleasing and asset disposition that are still used in the real estate departments of some of the nation’s largest retailers and developers. He has appeared before over a hundred different planning and zoning boards throughout Michigan and worked with the Michigan Department of National Resources, Department of Environmental Quality, and many County Drain Commissioners and Road Commissions.  Mr. LaBelle has presented seminars on many commercial real estate and leasing topics for the Law Conference of the International Council of Shopping Centers, the Michigan Real Property Law Section and ICLE. He has been published in the Michigan Real Property Review, Lawyers Weekly, and the Oakland County Bar Association Laches.  Mr. LaBelle received a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and an A.B. in Economics, with honors, from the University of Chicago.
