William C. DiSessa

Will received a bachelor’s degree in finance from Michigan State University in 2014. Coupling his proclivity for business with a passion for the written word, he immediately pursued a degree at Michigan State University College of Law where, in 2017, he earned his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude. Since then, Will has worked as a licensed attorney in the state of Michigan.

During his years of legal education, Will served under a host of employers, including governmental entities – state and local – and nonprofit organizations. Beyond the halls of his alma mater, he clerked for the State of Michigan Tax Tribunal and externed with the Prima Civitas Foundation. He also participated in multiple internships that allowed him to review legislation impacting Michigan’s retirement systems, prosecute criminal matters, and conduct extensive research on a broad range of civil and criminal legal issues.

In addition to his coursework, Will honed his craft as a managing editor of the Michigan State University Law Review, the school’s flagship journal. He also volunteered with the Michigan State University Investor Advocacy Clinic (where he represented clients pursuing FINRA arbitration claims) and Michigan Legal Help as a Live Help Agent. Using his passion to engage with his peers, Will was a founding member of the Michigan State College of Law’s Economics and Law Student Association and acted as a student representative to the State Bar of Michigan.

Once freshly licensed, Will expanded his legal repertoire in the courts. During the first year following graduation from law school, he worked as a research attorney for the Michigan Court of Appeals.  After, he served for two years as a judicial term clerk under the Honorable Justice Brian K. Zahra of the Michigan Supreme Court. Having spent his post-graduate career finding novel solutions for current dilemmas facing an expansive array of practice areas, Will brings to the private sector a devotion to justice and an aspiration toward excellence that years of public service have instilled.

Now an associate attorney at Williams, Williams, Rattner & Plunkett, Will represents a variety of businesses and individuals in matters relating to commercial litigation and transactional dealings.
