BIRMINGHAM, Michigan, September 7, 2010 — WWRP, P.C. real estate attorney, John D. Gaber, recently made a compelling case to convince the Rochester Hills City Council to eliminate a historic district within the city. Despite strong opposition from the adjacent neighborhoods and the local-historic community, Mr. Gaber successfully challenged the historical significance of the house and its architectural value — the primary reasons the house was designated.

In 1978, the City of Rochester Hills designated the farmhouse, dating back to 1900, as a noncontiguous-historic district. This is believed to be one of only a few occasions since the enactment of the Local Historic Districts Act in 1970 in which a historic district was eliminated.

With nearly two decades of experience, John Gaber provides exceptional legal services in the areas of real estate, corporate, and general-business law. He specializes in providing solutions to challenges concerning real-estate development, zoning, construction leasing, financing, and loan workouts. Mr. Gaber graduated summa cum laude from Wayne State University Law School and serves on the Board of Directors of the Rochester Regional Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of the Rochester Rotary Club and chairs the Endowment Committee for St. Paul’s Methodist Church in Rochester. In 1999, Mr. Gaber served as president to the Rochester Hills City Council and was later appointed to the Rochester Hills Planning Commission.
